FOR THE LOVE OF LIGHT
AND SHADOWS

CHAPTER 1: THE SHADOWS CALLING

And the shadows said: “Look at me!”

They were everywhere, and they always show themselves to me. They wanted to be seen. I obliged. I played their game. I explored their dark side while thinking, what is this fascination towards this anonymous shapes? Why does it matter? Why do I feel that it is important?

… until at one point, I said, “I have played with you long enough. I know who you are now.

CHAPTER 2: THE SEARCH FOR LIGHT

I stopped entertaining the shadows that was wanting to pull me down with them. And so for a whole year, I just photographed light. However faint, in color, or in monochrome, of the simplest things in life. I seek for them, and I started appreciating them more. Finding them gave me joy. it gave me a taste of the other side.

CHAPTER 3: FINDING

It taught me that I have a choice:

To see and focus on the dark, or choose the light. And so my series which I called Chromasynthesis and Confluence were born - a conscious effort to see the light in the midst of darkness.

The existence of light is the very soul of photography, and in life.
