Private Photography Critique Session
A critique is a thoughtful, objective assessment of a piece of work or an idea.
It evaluates both the strengths and weaknesses of a subject using reasoning, evidence, and clear goals.
This private critique session is for photographers who feel uncertain about their work and want to understand what they’re actually seeing before deciding what to do next.
It’s a focused, one-on-one conversation centered on your photographs.
How A Critique Can Help You
Identifies Blind Spots
It reveals the areas of improvement in your work that you haven’t realized before
Accelerates Skill Development
What works vs what doesn’t. Understanding what differentiates these indirectly provides you with an actionable roadmap for improvement.
Builds Self-Awareness
Learning to process feedback objectively improves emotional intelligence, forming you to be a more resilient and adaptable individual.
What This Session Is (And Isn’t)
This is not a portfolio review for approval.
It is not technical instruction.
It is not a checklist of fixes.
This is a careful reading of your work.
The goal is clarity, not correction.
How It Works
This is a private, one-on-one session conducted online.
You’ll share a selection of 10-20 photographs in advance.
In many cases, seeing the full sequence from a shoot is more useful than only selected images.
During the session, we’ll look at your work slowly and talk through what’s emerging, rather than rushing toward conclusions.
What You Can Expect to Leave With
Most photographers leave with:
a clearer understanding of their work
a sense of direction, even if answers aren’t final
This session is often enough to restore orientation. For some, it also becomes the beginning of a longer conversation.
What Happens Next (If Anything)
There is no obligation to continue beyond this session. If it feels complete to you and you are ready to continue by yourself, it ends there.
Many photographers find that the clarity from a critique session opens a deeper question - not just about these images, but about the photographer they want to become.
If that happens for you, private coaching is where that conversation continues.
